Remember that "authorizers" give you authority. You have only as much power as people are willing to grant you. Finding allies - or people who are willing to expand and promote your authority - is key to acting politically.
Find support - who may be willing to help you? Why would they help you? What can you do for them?
- Find unlikely allies - is there anyone who did NOT support you in the past - but who could support you now?
- Understand the loyalties of your allies. What are your allies' constituents? Do they need to worry about anyone? Why?
