Adaptive changes occur over time. Organisms do not evolve instantaneously. Adaptive challenges must be recognized. Heifetz, Grashow, & Linsky observe that "progress is radical over time yet incremental in time" (p. 16).
Because change is gradual, an Adaptive Leader must be patient and persistent.
It's True! The authors suggest that "successful adaptations are thus both conservative and progressive." (p. 15). Why?
