Application Exercise
Think of an organization that refused to change for a long time. This may be a family unit, a business, a not for profit corporation, or any other social system. Now ask yourself:

1. How did "the status quo" help the members of the organization? 2. What losses did organizational members face if the organization did change? 3. What happened at the end? Did change occur? If the situation is still ongoing, what do you think will happen? 4. How were (or are, if the case is ongoing) the change agents regarded in the organization? Were they (or are they) perceived positively or negatively? Why?
