Heifetz et al. compare conflict and the power of dissonance in music. They say:
"Dissonance creates tension in the music, causing the listener to naturally want some kind of resolution." (p. 151)."
This means that conflict is an important component of solving an Adaptive Challenge. Conflict may create the urgency the group needs to resolve the situation.
