Who is to blame?
Frequently, we attempt to solve problems by playing the "blame game." We like to assign blame to one single individual or group of individuals.

Likewise, people play the "hero game" - we attempt to solve complex problems by relying blindly on a "hero."

Think about the following questions:

  1. Did George W. Bush cause the economic crisis?
  1. Can Barack Obama solve the economic crisis?
  1. Did Saddam Hussein cause terrorism?
  1. Can the Iraqi war stop terrorism?
  1. Did competition cause the problems at GM?
  1. Can protectionism restore GM?
  1. Can the flu virus cause someone to die?
  1. Can someone cure a drug addict by giving him/her addiction curing drugs?
