The Meaningful Leader: A Leader's Guide to Passion

How do you achieve passion? This presentation – which is based on research involving more than 1,300 HR professionals – will introduce you to a “passion formula” that could explain approximately 70% of the variation in emotional engagement at work.  Learn the differences between physical, cognitive, and emotional engagement; review relationships between individual personalities, psychological conditions related to employee engagement and passion; focus on the importance of “meaningfulness” and “fit”; and recognize your own role, as a leader, in nurturing a culture of meaningfulness and passion at work. Learning objectives include:

  • Create an action plan to develop leaders for maximum organizational engagement
  • Differentiate physical, emotional, and cognitive engagement
  • Apply the “engagement formula” (involving personality, fit, availability, and meaningfulness) to own and others’ emotional engagement strategies
  • Discuss the value of a “culture of meaningfulness at the organization
  • Strategize to minimize threats to fit at the organization
